Pipe compensator is a device commonly used in pipeline systems to compensate for pipe expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes, vibration or installation errors. It can reduce the stress on the pipe system and prevent excessive stress from causing damage to the pipes.
Common pipe compensators are mainly of the following types:
1. Expansion joint: An expansion joint is a retractable pipe compensator. It is usually made of metal or rubber material. It can automatically adjust its length when the pipeline is subjected to expansion and contraction force, thereby absorbing the expansion and contraction deformation of the pipeline and reducing the impact on surrounding equipment and pipeline connection parts.
2. Spring support: The spring support uses the elastic properties of the spring to achieve compensation for the pipeline system. Based on the expansion and contraction characteristics of the pipeline, it can adjust its own height and reduce the stress on the pipeline. Regarding the installation position, it is usually installed at the support point or discontinuous position of the pipeline to provide a better compensation effect.
3. Friction sliding support: The friction sliding support uses friction to achieve compensation for the pipeline system. It mainly controls the expansion and contraction deformation of the pipeline by adjusting the friction between the movable plate and the cover plate, and is suitable for smaller displacement compensation.
4. Hose compensator: This is a pipe compensator made of flexible material, usually made of rubber or corrugated metal pipe, which can bear part of the stress when the pipeline system expands and contracts, reducing the impact on the pipeline and connectors. Hose compensators are suitable for smaller diameter pipelines.
